It is the fossil fuel industry promoting tax on solar. Obama is in favor of promoting alternative energy sources. Republicans discourage it because they are in the picket of the fossil fuel industry.
Guys? The “government will arrest you for collecting rain” bit is because they lived on dry Western land where somebody else actually owns the water rights. It’s been like that for over a century. If you live in the east, there is no problem with that, because they don’t have those kind of water laws.
They are trying to tax the sun in some states.
