Rep. Ken Buck introduced a bill in Congress that would make it a hate crime to target a police officer.
I’ve been in law enforcement for 25 years before I started in this job, I’ve seen over and over both police officers on the street and federal agents, jail deputies and bureau of prison officials being threatened by very dangerous people. I have a passion for trying to protect those who protect us. That’s what this bill is about.”
The measure comes at a time when cases of attacks on police officers — and deadly use of force by officers — have made shocking headlines across the country. It’s also a time when many officers feel under attack from those who blame all officers for the actions of a few.
When you talk about hate crime legislation, that’s always kind of a tough area, he said. What makes the assault, or the murder, of a person of a specific background any more or less heinous than someone who doesn’t fit into one of those categories?
The number of blue deaths is trending up. Last year 124 officers were killed in the line of duty, according to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund, This is higher than to 2013 total 107 officers that were killed. In 2014, 117 officers lost their lives in the line of duty.
Buck said he doesn’t know who might oppose the bill, but he noted on Wednesday as he walked to the House floor to file it, several Republicans — Reps. Trey Gowdy, Pete Sessions, Jason Chaffetz, and John Ratcliffe — asked to be added to be co-sponsors.
“I haven’t walked down the Democrat aisle yet,” Buck said. “We’ll see. I can’t imagine anyone could be opposed to protecting police officers.”
Really? Have you ever heard of Black Lives Matter and every liberal who supports them?

I think part of the problem is the training American police officers have received from Israel’s military, the IDF, where they are taught we are “the enemy.”
It’s also part of the police state agenda. Cops are just revenue generators. I think the reason they don’t get fired or imprisoned fort their actions is because just like at a regular job those who make the money get away with a little bit more. Not to mention the deep deep pockets of police unions and their bribery in politics.
Wasn’t Hillary just saying police are targeting blacks, looks as if she may be wrong, again.
