Do you know what is similar between a gun and a chicken? Well in North Carolina just like when you buy a gun you have to have a record of buying it, with a chicken you have to register it with the Department of Agriculture. Instead of being able to freely own chickens as part of a self-sufficient way of life, you now have Big Brother breathing down your neck.

You make it sound like a huge deal. It’s one state doing it to try to lessen the danger of avian flu. Jeez calm down.

All joking aside this is been going on for several years we have had to register them, they had to have blood drawn to make sure that they weren’t diseased and it was $100 reregister every year. when you sell a chicken you have to fill out paperwork as to who the bought , how many and where did the chicken go and was it healthy when it left your place PS we are no longer in the chicken business
