Sweet Cakes by Melissa, the bakery renowned for standing for one’s religious beliefs, is refusing to pay the $135,000 fine levied by the Labor Commissioner Brad Avakian.
The gay couple who refused to take their wedding cake order elsewhere, filed suit against the Kleins, when their religious convictions about gay marriage hurt the feelings of Laurel and Rachel Bowman-Cryer. Read more on page 2.
And pocket $500,000 from supporters. You forgot to add that.
I doubt that these cherry pickers cadnorizing yahoo’s even know what there picking about. Do we not all fall short ? Maybe they shouldn’t be in business until they are perfect. Haha that’s not happening so do your business without self righteousness are have no business with the human race
Crystal you know nothing is spewing from my mouth when I type right? Calling what I say ignorant is cheap….try to actually demonstrate what I have said is wrong. Why did the bakery lose the court case if I’m ignorant? Where is the legal precedent to support your claim that the constitution grants you the right to discriminate…surely this has come up in the past and if you are correct the supreme court would have ruled in agreement with you and not me….so cite the case (or cases).
It’s criminal. They should be thrown in jail. There’s a rule of law here in America!
Andy, I’m calling you out. You obviously didn’t read all of my comments, because I clearly said,
“I love gay people. I love all people because God loves them. God created all people in His image. But God doesn’t make our choices. I have the religious freedom to not be forced by anyone, including the government, to commit what I personally consider sin. It is also Biblical, to further back it up.”
It’s not for us to judge, but we are told to speak the truth in love. Jesus called out sin lovingly, and He certainly didn’t participate in it. He set the example. Always.
If Jesus were on the Earth today in human form, and he owned a bakery, do you think He would make a gay wedding cake? Would Jesus, who is God, participate in celebrating a same-sex union by making that wedding cake? Of course not. He’d lovingly tell the people looking for a cake that He could not provide it. He would tell them why, in a loving manner. He would gladly serve them in other capacities, but He wouldn’t condone sin by making that wedding cake. I live my life trying really hard to meet the standards of Jesus. I fall short every day, like every other human being. But I try, and when I can avoid sinning, I do. As in this case, I would’ve declined to make the cake. I would be loving and peaceful, but I would have to decline. Because that’s my right under the First Amendment of the Constitution of the United States of America. Even if we never had a Constitution, I would still decline. Because I’d rather do God’s will over the will of man, at any cost. The government cannot force anyone to go against their personal, religious beliefs and sin. That is not freedom. That is tyranny. That is totalitarianism. America stands for freedom, not tyranny.
The bottom line is, I’ve laid out the law, in truth, as our Founder’s intended, and as it still stands today. No matter how it’s been trampled all over, it still stands as our law. The laws of man can NEVER rise above the laws of God. NEVER. Look up America’s Social Compact Law. In addition, the Constitution is clear about Freedom of Religion being a cornerstone of our nation. That is precisely why this nation was founded in the first place. If you, Don Johnson, and Chuck Jacob don’t like it, I’m sorry but those are undeniable facts. You don’t have to believe the truth, but rejecting the truth is folly, and always leads to destruction.
No matter what, I stand with God before anyone or anything. Most true Christians feel the same way, as it should be. Without Him, I am nothing and I have nothing.
Do some reading, Don. I’ve already cited the Social Compact Law, and the Constitutional law. There is nothing else to say about that.
By the way, just because a judge says so, doesn’t make it true, or moral. The Founding Fathers expected us to question authority, because that is one way to avoid tyranny. You also avoid the people becoming sheeple. Following along. Never questioning. Just doing as they’re told. That’s un-American. That’s not freedom.
Stand your ground don’t let these gays push you about as am forever getting sick of hearing gays and there stupid gay card to sue anyone that stands in there way.
Go to a Muslim restaurant and order a BLT. Sue the hell out of them to pay your fine.
Amen
We are standing with you
