Sweet Cakes by Melissa, the bakery renowned for standing for one’s religious beliefs, is refusing to pay the $135,000 fine levied by the Labor Commissioner Brad Avakian.
The gay couple who refused to take their wedding cake order elsewhere, filed suit against the Kleins, when their religious convictions about gay marriage hurt the feelings of Laurel and Rachel Bowman-Cryer. Read more on page 2.
Legal court clerks DO have to give out licenses…or they go to jail. And not only that….court clerks work for the state…completely different situation, but same result.
This will be our last conversation. You are not catching the gist.
Once again did they tried buy a cake that was already made and setting on the shelf .????
And you did not reply to me about the little man and women where they offered for sale over the counter?
I love you continually asking what the differences between a gay cake and a non-gay cake I could not answer that question because I do not bake cakes
Kentucky county clerk broke a LAW, bakery owners PC agenda! Not a corp. They can refuse service. If they don’t like the color of my glasses…they don’t have to bake me a cake! RIGHT TO REFUSE SERVICE! Use our other FREEDOMS, GO TO ANOTHER BAKERY! Not sue a small business owner standing up for their moral, religious convictions, AND OH YEAH….RIGH TO REFUSE SERVICE!!
See, that’s where your argument fails. A man and a woman getting married isn’t a sin. Same-sex marriage is.
It’s not the government’s job to keep anyone in business, or put anyone out of business. So you are wrong there too.
Your arguments make zero sense. You clearly have never read the Bible, nor are you a Christian. Therefore, your arguments are just inherently flawed, because you have no idea what you’re even talking about.
It’s not even worth talking to you about this. You’re just someone who likes to lurk on conservative threads, and attack those who disagree with your point of view. All the while, your attacks are baseless, because you know not of which you speak. You should read up heavily on your resources before you attack someone who is educated about the topic at hand. Otherwise, the ignorance that spews from between your lips is so easy to pick out. ✌
Get off the white knight horse and see ALL sides. If if we’re my daughters wedding, WHILE I would have debated with them, you not invited to the wedding merely baking a cake for the guests to consume. Then taken our business elsewhere.
If they don’t sell the “toppers” over the counter to ANYONE then they don’t sell them. You seem to be suggesting that they should be able to refuse…unless the cake is already in stock. But they are willing to bake a cake for straight couples…..so there is the discrimination. The act of baking the cake is the service they provide, so they are not allowed (by law) to refuse to provide that service based on race, gender, sexual orientation or disability…that’s the way the law reads.
And it’s pretty simple as far as I can tell…..there is zero different between cakes….cakes are genderless….
Stand your ground!!!!! F our liberal government!!!!!
Therefore everybody needs to put a sign on their door! You know the one that says “we have the right to refuse service to anyone” …. Would that be better for you Don Johnson?? I suggest anybody and everybody that has a problem with serving gay people in their business to put this sign on your door it is totally legal everywhere! We do have the right to stand up for our belief and/or religion or both. Too many people are getting butt hurt for stupid reasons and want to make money off of others which makes them horrible people, no matter who they are.
What ever happened to a business’s right to refuse service? Did that go right out the window too?
Thank you, Gail!
Thank you, George!
I agree wholeheartedly! 🙂
