Sweet Cakes by Melissa, the bakery renowned for standing for one’s religious beliefs, is refusing to pay the $135,000 fine levied by the Labor Commissioner Brad Avakian.
The gay couple who refused to take their wedding cake order elsewhere, filed suit against the Kleins, when their religious convictions about gay marriage hurt the feelings of Laurel and Rachel Bowman-Cryer. Read more on page 2.
More importantly, the lesbian’s didn’t sue
Anti discrimination laws disagree with you.
Which is illegal
Chuck It’s always interesting when women defend discrimination….

God for them
Crystal I agree….every citizen has religious freedom. Where exactly does that religious freedom allow someone to break anti-discrimination laws? You are the one that doesn’t appear to understand how it works. Religious freedom doesn’t mean you get to do whatever you want.
Furthermore do all christians disagree with gay marriage? No. So it’s not even a religious belief since people can’t agree it is simply a choice to be prejudice that they use religion to hide behind and then act like they don’t have a choice but to discriminate…again…not how it actually works.
Founding fathers like James Madison?
Yep. And they’ll end up only keeping those bigoted convictions as they go out of business and hand the keys to the building over to the couple. When does common sense, humanity and tolerance take over for brute bigotry? Just like our local bigot florist who was used AND LOST, disagree all you want, that’s fine, keep your religion. BUT, when you have a business open to the public at large you CANNOT legally discriminate against a protected class. And if you do so, the consequences are ALL YOUR FAULT.
Just like that toad Kim Davis and Barronelle Stutzman, the owners of this bakery are 100% WRONG. The law is binding. Suck it up.
The state sued because they broke anti discrimination laws.
Business owners are subject to the law.
