Sweet Cakes by Melissa, the bakery renowned for standing for one’s religious beliefs, is refusing to pay the $135,000 fine levied by the Labor Commissioner Brad Avakian.
The gay couple who refused to take their wedding cake order elsewhere, filed suit against the Kleins, when their religious convictions about gay marriage hurt the feelings of Laurel and Rachel Bowman-Cryer. Read more on page 2.
Keep your faith and remember God is with you. Don’t pay and keep fighting.
One of the things they need to do is make this couple prove they have been injured…they claim 80 some reasons…many of us know that is bull…have them document all those emotional problems…no proof was required during the decision…any other court would have forced them to produce evidence…on top of this…the decisions was after a gay advocate group consulted those on how to handle this situation when the law was not even in effect yet…this was nothing but compromised and bias…this all needs exposed and they should be able to run their business they want they want…they were suppose to have…this was a set up…this was an attempt on these women to get money…not anything except money…no discrimination, bias…this was strictly their right to live their faith…a moral compass…the do unto others as they would do unto you (forget where in the bible)…These people would not sue someone who refused to do business with them…they would find another business who would…these gals wanted to punish this couple, destroy them and get rich by abusing the court systems..labor board….whatever..
That “We Refuse the Right” sign does NOT give a business free reign to refuse anyone based on gender, race, sexual orientation or disability…..especially not in a state that has specific anti-discrimination laws.
You still never answered how this “was asking the owner to be involved in something that went beyond just a basic transaction of business.”
And how exactly was this couple “looking for an easy pay day”? Did they look up “Bakery Willing to Discriminate” on Google? How could they possibly know before hand this would be an issue. I mean NOT ALL christians oppose gay marriage so how could they have been looking for a pay day?
I wouldn’t pay either
I wouldn’t pay either…
Good for you.
I support these people. Maybe not there beliefs. But I support them and they should not have to pay a dime.
They should soon on for discrimination against them and their rights. It isn’t about money, it is about their right to refuse business, any business.
Well…think back to what the world was like for people when “business owners were allowed to have choices”. Before anti-discrimination legislation how were things for people other than middle aged white men? Were they awesome, or not so much? I would say things have gotten considerably better for them as a whole…apparently you would disagree.
God Bless Them!!
