Phillip Walter, 29, and Violetta Walter, 30, were arrested on Friday on the charges of murder of Don Allen, the police officer killed in Abilene, Texas.
The husband and wife were charged with first-degree felony murder and face life in prison.

Regardless, death penalty is only for premeditated murders I’ve been told.
He was off duty. That makes him a civilian at the time of the attack. There also may be a question as to whether it was a hook-up gone awry or a planned attack. These factors do make a difference.
They weren’t. They actually said from the beginning it wasn’t like the other cop killings.
Because the line about police never being off duty doesn’t count if it’s going to cost the department money. Out of uniform=civilian.
