American Muslim Soldiers are Killed at the Same Rate as Americans Killed by Foreign Muslim Soldiers

Last week, a Muslim couple who lost their son in service attacked Donald Trump during the Democratic national Convention.

“Khizr Khan, whose son was one of 14 Muslims to die while serving the United States after 9/11, gets a standing ovation at the DNC.”

The statistic is derived from a 2011 report by Rep. Peter King (R-NY). No Muslim soldiers appear to have been reported killed in action since then as the media has only reported the 14 Muslim KIA.

In contrast, a total of 14 American soldiers have been murdered by Muslim soldiers in attacks since 2001.

The parity between Muslim soldiers killed and those killed by enemy Muslims doesn’t justify the death of Army Capt. Humayun Saqib Muazzam Khan, but it points out an oft-overlooked aspect of war. While the death of any American is tragic, they do so in a fight to thwart radical Islamic terror. To criticize a candidate for wanting to rid the world of the dangerous ideology undermines the entire point of the mission.
