Leave it to the virtue signalizing bullish left to attack the free speech of those opposing them while allegedly fighting for the rights of the “oppressed’ and “freedom for all”.
Alejandro Villanueva was briefly one of the most popular players in the NFL. But, God forbid an army vet and proud patriot be allowed to disrupt the new status-quo and respect the flag, and his country.
He quickly came under fire from not only his own coach, but NFL owners for daring to stand after being virtue signaled to kneel in defiance of President Trump.
It seems hard to imagine this guy being an “unintentional” participant in standing for the national anthem. Did he also “unintentionally” place his hand on his heart?
Hear his explanation on the next page during his 1st press conference following his headline-making stand during the national anthem Sunday.
He just simple minded and upset his team and they hurt his feelings so now this story.
Even the prophets denied knowing Christ.
There is only one message being sent to America by NFL players taking a knee during the national anthem at NFL games…..
…and that message is to say$#%&!@*YOU to all Americans….
….and that all cops, all soldiers, and all of those who have laid down their lives to serve America from the birth of our country until today are nothing more than trash in their eyes.
I’m sure it was “apologize or you’re fired” but this really fucking disappoints me. I can’t help but lose respect.
why you did the right thing
No regrets
I bet the change was due to “peer pressure”…because there is no “I” in Team…I would have stood my ground and made them eat their words, even at the cost of my job.
Please stop making excuses for them
So a team is more important to him then his country!!Enough said!!!
Clown Show! CLOWN SHOW!
Let’s no longer refer to it as the NFL. It is now the CLOWN SHOW!
Say it with me now:
“CLOWN SHOW’!
I have been a loyal fan of the Cowboys for close to 50 years, and I won’t be watching them or ANY NFL team this year, starting with yesterday’s Monday Night Game. With every year, ever since that f**e-assed “Ickey Shuffle” in the mid-’80’s, they have piled on one distraction after another to a game that was always a place for people to come together as players, coaches, press and above all, FANS, of ALL colours, ALL walks of life, ALL political persuasions, ALL cat/dog people; come together for an afternoon on the weekend and be our own little soap opera. Distractions: salary explosions, whining over millions; distractions: excessive celebrations during the game (I didn’t mind this one—let the boys be boys); distractions: endless drug & alcohol arrests and suspensions; distractions: strikes, complaining about their jobs while OUR jobs never improve, ; distractions: the bloated, over-blown sense of self-importance the NFL clobbers the universe with, as if it were a religion, vis-à-vis Super Bowls that rivaled British Royal Coronations in pompous productions, and distractions: price-gouging, all across the board. We absorbed all of these distractions because we loved the game, still, fat and ugly as it had become during our long, long relationship. We still loved it, embraced it, even if we couldn’t quite get our arms around it anymore. And then along comes this Kaepernick thing. Right to free expression? Absolutely. Reasons for protesting? Valid, sure. Timing? SHITTIER THAN THE SHITTIEST HEEL OF THE SHITTIEST SHOE OF THE SHITTIEST ZOOKEEPER OF THE SHITTIEST ZOO IN THE SHITTIEST CITY ON EARTH. Someone in a public gathering asks for a moment of silence for remembering fallen persons, everyone shuts up, right? Well, that’s what the National Anthem always has been: a moment, albeit a musical one, for remembering fallen REAL heroes as we come together to celebrate our success as a nation. Not a perfect nation, no. But the best multi-nationality nation on Earth. This kneeling thing was the last straw placed on the camel’s hump. That’s it. I am done. I don’t need to watch a Clown Show, I get enough of that in the REAL world.
Did that sound bitchy?
Whenever someone backs down for doing the right thing is a sign of a weak person. Makes you wonder what the team and the coach did to make him change his attitude.
