This rat trap anyone can build. You make it once and it catches many rats.
A bucket, some peanut butter, a pipe and some water. Yup, that’s pretty simple.
One improvement suggested by someone using this trap is to add antifreeze to the water, which instantly kills the rats.

Trap works great but safer the antifreeze is a heavy weight oil added to the water. The antifreeze didn’t kill the rat right away but the rat was able to get out somehow but the heavy weight oil weighed the rat down enough the second night that it couldn’t get out and I found it in the bucket. Not one rat problem since.

What. Keeps the rat from climbing back out? If they climb up the outside of the bucket why can’t they just climb up the inside?
Just buy a pack of rat traps just as cheap plus you get to hear that snap sound that tells you you got him lol

I’ve heard of it working for mice, but not rats. The bucket is too small for rats to fall in when the peanut butter can spins. They will just jump off. My friend has video of them eating the PB and never falling in. I also think that can with the PB on it is too big for mice. It’s too close to the edge of the bucket.
