We use this in Maine at the hunting cabin. Come back in the spring and it’s half full! Very pleasant! Ha ha. Have to use some antifreeze.or it would turn into a solid block. It’s inside so no animals other than the mice get in.
I always use RV anti freeze in a similar trap. It doesn’t evaporate and any mice falling in won’t decay. Any people, dogs, cats etc. that are in my locked cabin during the winter should die anyway. I never leave any anti freeze outdoors or around pets.

Just get 5 gallon bucket and small roller pin works perfect

I have always had barn cats so I never had a problem with mice,rats,chipmunks or squirrels
my barn cats always took care of them scoundrelas.
Keep food & garbage contained. Keep your place clean and you shouldn’t have a rat problem.
