This rat trap anyone can build. You make it once and it catches many rats.
A bucket, some peanut butter, a pipe and some water. Yup, that’s pretty simple.
One improvement suggested by someone using this trap is to add antifreeze to the water, which instantly kills the rats.

Antifreeze is a slow agonizing death. They may need to go away but no reason to kill them cruelly. Way to F up your karma.

I leave antifreeze in my camper toilet and have found a few mice floating as that is the only place they can get a drink. Yep, RV antifreeze with the lid up.

Antifreeze is also deadly to dogs and cats. Also they’re calling this a rat trap. It’s not big enough for the rats we have. I guess you could use a larger bucket and it would work. I honestly don’t think it would be as effective on rats though. I don’t mind if the rats stay outside but when they get in your attic and chew through your ducting or get inside your AC and chew the insulated cover, they have to go.
