Its too little too late, but the Clintons are trying to regain some semblance of the American people’s trust before they head into the polls on election day and determine if Hillary will be president or not.
Speaking on behalf of his wife as well as himself, former President Bill Clinton surprised observers by announcing that the Clinton Foundation will no longer accept donations from foreign and corporate interests if Hillary wins the election. The move is particularly shocking as it suggests the Clintons feel vulnerable about their past associations through the foundation and want to quell criticism of their ties to such suspicious actors as members of the Saudi royal family.
Instead, the former president claimed that the foundation would only accept money from American citizens and charities. Whether the group will receive nearly as many donations from these parties as it did the Saudis remains to be seen.
