The government of the United States was involved, over the years, in an amazing number of really despicable experiments on human beings, often without their knowledge or consent. Sometimes these were ignorant attempts to do some greater good, while in others, bureaucrats only sought for scientific discovery at any cost, despite the truly evil consequences. These official projects or sometimes, sanctioned operations by the U.S. government, mark despicable points in the nation’s history, no matter the excuses.
