Law enforcement in Eugene, OR have stated they will forcibly draw blood on anyone refusing a breathalyzer this coming July 4th weekend.
Of course, drunk driving is a very serious matter. But do you agree that law enforcement can take such physical action against someone not yet convicted of a crime when they can still detain you by giving less intrusive tests, just as they have done for years?
They need to get their blood spilled
Only after I stop breathing!
Don’t drink and drive. That’s the law idiots.
Against the law
stay safe at home
This should not be done under field conditions or by someone not trained!!!!! It is so easy to kill someone by mistake if you are not experienced !!!
thank the war on drugs…the gubmint owns your fecal matter

“I agree completely that drunk driving is a menace and I’d like to see the perps go to jail, pay large fines, whatever it takes to get them off the road- to a point. I don’t like the idea that the police can invade your privacy- your DNA is the ultimate information gatherer. That’s what the police are after here, it must be- and when did it be okay to bypass a law, refusal of the breathalyser, lose license for three months and still have to pay a fine- frankly I’m good with that. I don’t often get pulled over (I think twice in 20 years?) and I do not drive intoxicated by drink or drugs, but I would still refuse a breathalyser as a matter of principal and would gladly go to court and pay a fine. There is no way that I would voluntarily give blood to the police. Once you do, it is not only stored locally, but nationally!! Sorry but I will try as hard as I can to keep my DNA private. Things like breathalysers and blood draws are a violation of my Constitutional rights under the 4th amendment- illegal search. I am very much against drug testing and it’s not because I drink or take drugs. I refuse to work in a place where drug testing is required to get the job and random drug tests required to keep it. What you do on your off hours is none of your boss’ business. So long as you are preforming your job duties adequately, why is it an issue for the company? I am fine with the Worker’s Comp rules that state if an accident occurs, the company can and will drug test me. I’m not happy about it but no one should be able to sue their employer for an accident because they were on drugs. But until that occurs, do not drug test me. Innocent until proven guilty. And did you know that the police no longer need to read you your rights? There was a court ruling over this and I’m sorry I can’t provide a link, but the decision was something absolutely ridiculous. It was that since there are so many cop shows on television, people should already know what their right are. Now YOU have to tell the police officer you are asserting your rights, otherwise anything is fair game. IMHO if I am on the verge of getting arrested, I would refuse all search attempts and say nothing until I got a lawyer. So many people get trampled by the police because they act very nice and sympathetic- until you confess to a crime. Then it’s bracelets for you. The police can lie to you at any point and say anything they want to get you to confess, they try to scare you about what your chances are in court, so even if you aren’t guilty, you’re afraid of the jury and the plea bargain looks good… Utter BS. Say nothing, do not consent to any searches, get a lawyer.”
