If you can’t deny it, own it outwardly in a contrived manner to minimize it. Crediting former Vice President and 2020 presidential candidate Joe Biden with that strategy might be giving too much credit. The man probably just can’t help himself.
After several women came forward last month to share stories of how Biden’s constant touching made them feel ill at ease, ‘Sleepy Joe’ promised to be “more mindful about respecting personal space.” That sure didn’t last long.
“Social norms are changing. I understand that, and I’ve heard what these women are saying. Politics to me has always been about making connections, but I will be more mindful about respecting personal space in the future. That’s my responsibility and I will meet it,” Biden said in a video.
