Report: Iran Dispatching Anti-riot Forces to Venezuela to Quell Popular Uprising

Iran’s official IRNA news agency reports that President Hassan Rouhani has expressed his support for embattled Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro. On Saturday, Rouhani met with Venezuelan military officer Carlos Alcala Cordones and the Venezuelan envoy to Tehran and voiced his support for Maduro’s government, according to IRNA.

“We believe the people of Venezuela through unity and standing by the government will defuse the pressures by Washington,” Rouhani is quoted as saying.

Rouhani describes US intervention in Venezuela’s internal affairs as “very ugly.”

“Americans basically oppose popular revolution and independent nations,” Rouhani said.

Iran already has military forces in Syria, Yemen and Lebanon. Now it appears they will be sending an elite force to Venezuela.

Those Obama billions are certainly coming in handy. Continue to the next page for details.
