“Land of the free” seems to mean less with every passing day.
America was founded on the idea that men and women can succeed on their own, fail on their own, and generally live by the choices they choose to make. Government was to be as small and unobtrusive as possible, and would not interfere with decisions that harmed no one but the individual.
But, thanks to the left, that’s hardly true anymore.
Nowadays, it seems as if you can get ticketed, fined, or arrested for just about anything — a lesson learned by one unfortunate man in Michigan who was simply carrying out his morning routine. Unbeknownst to him, one of his daily chores was actually illegal and carried a hefty fine.

Did that happen in the Muslim capital of the US?
This is stupid. Punish the car thieves not people trying to warm up their cars. Vote these idiot fascists out of office at the next election. Puhleeze!
Reason #356 why people don’t respect law enforcement anymore. Supposed to be Serve and Protect not Harrass and Extort.
Probable cause of what? Did they magically see a bag of weed sitting on the passenger seat in plain view from the road? If they entered his property based on a running car, they have no probable cause that any crime has been committed, and are prohibited from trespassing on his property.
That’s the democrat’s way of saying F$&k you!
Allen Sauner the best way to get a law changed is find out who voted for this law then next election for these people you go after them elect more sensible people . And what about cars with remote start my car is one of those .
That’s the law
Electric starter
just shows that cop and and city are assholes. this is mich what a bs city.
Christina, obviously lawmakers and police don’t agree with you. In my county, car thefts escalated after people started installing those automatic car starters. There were so many thefts that it interfered with already burdened political work. Since car thieves don’t care about laws, then leaving your car unattended and running was seen as complicity to the crime. You wouldn’t leave your gold bars in the front yard would you? If you did, you obviously didn’t care they were stolen or you wanted it stolen would be the presumption. Creating an opportunity to commit crime is a crime in some places. Just like not reporting a crime is a crime in most places. All you’re telling me is you’re a likely victim for many reasons.
