18: Barry Moore, House of Representatives, Alabama
A former soldier, Barry Moore is a fighter. He is determined to bring radical change to Washington and to deliver prosperity, increased freedom, and protection of our values to District 2. At this crucial time in our nation’s history, we need unashamed conservative leaders who will stand in the trenches with President Trump to Make America Great Again, and Barry Moore’s leadership, conviction, and faith make him the ideal candidate to do just that.
As a lifelong resident of our district, Barry Moore knows the needs of District 2. A proud graduate of Enterprise High School, Barry learned a deep love of community from a young age. In 1992, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Auburn University.
While at Auburn, Barry was a member of the Army ROTC program. Upon graduation, Barry enlisted in the Alabama National Guard and Army Reserve. Shortly thereafter, he married Heather Hopper Moore, whom he met at Auburn. The two have been happily married for 25 years.
In 2009, Barry was recruited to run for office in the effort to turn Alabama Republican for the first time since Reconstruction. Though he has always had a passion for our nation and for conservative principles, Barry had never planned to run for office. However, he felt called to serve and turn our state around, and he agreed to run.
The election in 2010 saw Republicans take control of our state, and Barry Moore was at the forefront of the charge. Against a 12 year incumbent, Barry won with an astounding 64.5% of the vote!
Barry serves as Chairman of the Military and Veterans Affairs Committee, where he has led the charge to once again see our state revere and care for its veterans. He is also on the Small Business and Commerce Committee and the Education Policy Committee.
Despite being one of our nation’s most conservative districts, District 2 has been represented by one of Washington’s most liberal Republicans- one who refused to support President Trump in 2016. After much prayer, Barry obeyed God’s call to step forward to provide District 2 with the leadership it deserves.
