10. The state military government

Everyone knows North Korea for mostly two things, the ruler and the army. What is not clear is the size of the army. As of 2011, North Korea had reportedly about 1.19 million people on active army duty in a nation of between 24 and 25 million people! Another 5.7 million are reservists. It has one of the highest numbers of military personnel per-capita in the world.
