It would seem that Hillary is in hot water, with over 1,200 emails, sent and received, from her private server, while acting as Secretary of State, were deemed classified. Yet one fears Hillary will not be the one burned, but rather the American public.
The total number, thus far, of classified emails that moved through her unsecured server is now at 1,274. Of the 5,500 pages of emails, most were “elevated to ‘confidential level’, but two in this most recent group of emails were raised to “‘Secret’ level, a more sensitive classification” concerning national security issues.
In classic Clinton fashion, Hillary denied that any emails were classified. She argued that none of them actually said, “classified”, which only made her look like a fool and a liar. She kept stressing time and again that she did not “send any classified information and that no messages she sent or received were marked classified at the time.”
Follow her lies on the following page.
We’ve all seen what the US does or doesn’t do does effect the rest of the world. Obama threatened Syria if they used chemical weapons. He drew the line in the sand. Syria crossed the line and Obama did nothing. That proved to our allies (of which Australia is one) that our government as it stands does not live up to it’s word. I think David is really trying to understand the pickle we’re in and why Trump has found favor when Obama is lauded as a savior in the media. Our media is biased beyond belief and very much pro-Obama. The rest of the world doesn’t see the negative and they need to ask how we feel. I think these posts will give him an idea of how much Obama is ‘disliked’ by the majority of posters.
I think that Australians like Obama in general and dislike Trump. As both are like our own political “types”. We do get some what we would call far right politicians elected – Pauline Hanson and her party is a case in point – they never get much power and only last a term or two if they’re lucky. The vast majority see them as a joke – like Trump, who says similar things as our far right pollinations do. In the other hand Rhonda Novak. Obama is much similar in nature and policy also to the kinds of leaders from both the left and right in Australia. Even our recent vaguely left and right wing prime ministers were both tossed out mid term by their own parties when they began to move too far to the right or had very unpopular policies.
We don’t have that ability unless the Senate begins Impeachment proceedings and it passes with a 2/3rds majority. After his Gitmo release this time and the new gun law provisions he’s cooked up without Congress, he may have pushed them too far. Your left is our right and your right is our left.
No they are the same. Right wing is conservative (liberal party) and left is somewhat but only vaguely now socialist (labor party) we also have a strong “greens” party and quite a few independents in what I think you (and we) call the senate – the house of review.
Hillary should not be permited to continue on the race for President. She should be diqualified and sent to jail along with Obama, Reed, Sharpton, Holder, and many others in Washighton.
She needs to be put in jail ?
David Copping That I can agree with you on, if nothing else, the elections should be entertaining.
Our problem we’ve been a 2 party system for 250 years. The tea party has tried and failed and everyone thought Trump would go third party but he didn’t. I think competition helps and doesn’t hinder.
Our leaders have generally been very progressive and positive. I think Australians have a funny way of voting. It’s pretty close to the truth over the last 40 years. When we want to tighten the purse strings we vote Liberal party (conservative) and when we think we need spend more on government services we vote Labor party (center left Union roots ). These days the two are fairly close to each other with the liberals moving left and labor to the right.
I think this level of moderation, strong minor parties like the greens and some independents, separation of church, state and judiciary work really well.
Our public health care system is good to very good, our general welfare system is good but has taken a bit of a battering lately, state based education needs more funding but along side excellent and reasonably affordable entry to tertiary education is world class. Tax rates are good but the wealthy should pay more. Crime is generally very low but there are pockets often associated with poverty that are higher – you wouldn’t find too many no go places about. Our record with indigenous people is slightly improving but overall it is the biggest blight on our country. Climate change acceptance and policy isn’t too bad but could be appreciably better. Infrastructure in cities and inner urban areas are great but less so in the “bush” – some areas are so isolated in Australia – they don’t always get the best deal. Agriculture and other farming, whilst affected a lot by drought, are world class. Medical research is world class. Manufacturing is a real issue, disappearing very quickly. Measures and indicators of general wellbeing, confidence, social cohesion and happiness are world class. Home loan rates are at historic lows but housing affordability in the main cities is very expensive. Issues of homelessness, mental illness, community violence and violence against women are big issues at the moment. Minimum wage is between 18 – 20 dollars an hour, with an average full time wage of 75,000.
Lastly, based on population, we are really good at sport and would choose that over politics most of the time. So not the best, for a few it’s horrible, but overall a great place to live and raise your kids.
Excellent review. Somehow our separation of church and state is conflicting now. We have atheist who don’t want Christian crosses on federal property but if you look at all the buildings in DC, they all have ‘In God We Trust’ and all our national cemeteries have christian crosses where requested. It’s caused confusion and division. I think at one time we saw shades of grey in areas where leniency was needed but somehow we’ve lost our humanity and see only the colors of white or black when it comes to interpretation of laws. We have seasons over here that dictate our sports. Now it’s football (college and pro) and in the south, we really take football seriously. It’s almost a religion. Right now Alabama is going to play Clemson for the National Championship Jan 11. We live, breathe and literally eat pigskin here. Then comes basketball and finally baseball. Our American pass time that everyone enjoys. If you do get to the states next year, you’ll see liberal and conservative cities. You’ll be able to tell which is which if you follow the November election and see the colors on the map. Going to be a lot of praying that day.
