LEFTIST PROTEST #6: FERGUSON RIOTS
In 2014, six-foot-five, 289-lb. “Gentle Giant” Michael Brown walked into a local Ferguson convenience store with his friend, grabbed a handful of cigars from behind the counter and proceeded to walk out of the store without paying. The store clerk, all five-foot-three of him, and 150-lbs. soaking wet, followed him toward the door pleading with him to pay for the stolen cigars. Instead of payment, he received a hand to the throat and a shove out of the way. As the small man made to come back at him, the “Gentle Giant” once again threatened him with clenched fist, before Brown finally left.
As we all know now, Officer Darren Wilson, who was called out to investigate, confronted Brown and was charged and nearly overcome by the “Giant” before the policeman shot and killed Brown. Eyewitnesses to this horrific scene where quickly co-opted by Brown supporters and told not to cooperate with investigators. The agreed-upon narrative was the now-infamous and false “hands-up-don’t-shoot” description which was later debunked by witnesses breaking silence.
Despite the facts, riots broke out over the shooting and mass looting, arson and gunfire was reported through the small Missouri town. When the smoke had cleared, the damage rung up was nearly $250K with tax revenues a year later down by 6% due to the loss of businesses that were shuttered because of the rioting.
To add insult to injury, the Department of Justice under a corrupt Obama administration, while finding no fault with the actions of Officer Darren Wilson and after the courts acquitted him of wrong-doing, the DOJ still managed to call the Ferguson Police Department racist and planned the eventual “federalizing” of the force.
