8. John Profumo
Outwardly, Britain’s Secretary of State for War appeared to be a model conservative and married to a famous film star, Valerie Hobson. An affair with a young showgirl, Christine Keeler turned his life of success completely around. Since Keeler also had sexual relations with Yevgeni Ivanov, the senior naval attaché at the Soviet Embassy, the Profumo Affair took on a national security dimension. Profumo eventually came clean about his improper relationship with Keeler and resigned. Although there was never any evidence shown that his impropriety had risked national security and although Profumo’s wife stood by him, the scandal ruined Profumo’s reputation and tainted the reputation of Prime Minister Harold Macmillan. Macmillan was driven to resign, as well.
Next on our list is a U.S. state governor who made a series of bad choices just so he could visit his mistress and it didn’t turn out well at all…

You put a picture of Cruz on the article and he’s not in it. That’s like putting a picture of a burger and fries on the from of Pizza Hut. It’s misleading because most of the numnuts hating on Cruz didn’t look past the cover.
