Black Lives Matter: We are Going to Tear Down Monuments in New Orleans

It’s tragic for our nation and not pleasant to say, but Mr. Obama has been a disaster as a president.  He has pursued war and conflict instead of peace in war-torn parts of the world. He and his secretaries of state have promoted conflicts with Russia and China, dismembered sovereign nations, and funded terrorist operations. His economic policies, such as one can discern them, have not promoted growth in the economy.  His health care plan is in ruins. And we could go on.

At least, as the first black president, one could have hoped he would have been a healing influence on race relations.  Instead, he’s the opposite.  Rather than condemning the violence of the “Black Lives Matter” movement, and setting an example of racial healing, he and his minions are making matters worse.

So now the grievances of those of the BLM movement are expanding.  This time to focus on statues, including those of past presidents, that they find offensive. And they openly plan to destroy them.

During a protest outside of New Orleans City Hall, a group of Take ‘Em Down Nola, which has made threats against the New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) and Mayor Mitch Landrieu’s administration in the past, said police will have to step aside this weekend as they plan to physically tear down the equestrian Andrew Jackson monument in the French Quarter.

It gets worse.

“We understand that the city and the police department are going to be out there to try and prevent us [from tearing down the monument], but we’re asking them to step aside and let us do what is our civic duty,” the spokesman said.

Over the past couple of years, vandalism has moved from being condemned, to being tolerated because of supposed grievances, to now being a “civic duty.”

Wrong.  Vandalism is a crime.  The only valid “civic duty” in any of this is to defend property and arrest those who attempt to vandalize it.

It would be nice to have a few words of support for the rule of law from our president, and some orders to the BLM gang to cease all forms of violence.  The actuality is, looking at the above threat to monuments in New Orleans, indicates that a race war is indeed upon us.
